U.S. Figure Skating has teamed with Rink Tank Interactive to develop the U.S. Figure Skating Skate Coach App Series, a comprehensive collection of digital Apps that are now available in the iTunes App Store. The App, available for iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, leads skaters, parents and instructors through the 12 badge curriculums that make up the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program. The new App platform will greatly enhance the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program and provide immediate feedback for those working to pass the Basic Skills curriculum. "This is a wonderful addition to our Basic Skills Program and I would encourage our skaters, parents and our instructors to embrace this new technology to enhance their experience with the program," said Susi Wehrli-McLaughlin, U.S. Figure Skating senior director of membership. The U.S. Figure Skating Skate Coach App Series includes a series of videos, diagrams and written instruction that will enhance and build upon a student's on-ice họcing. "You can think of each App as a digital Basic Skills manual, complete with video demonstrations," said Mark Fitzgerald, owner of Rink Tank Interactive and a former World-level skater who earned his degree in New Media Journalism from Northwestern University. The Apps are available for $1.99 each.
