Hi guys, Gypsy from the Skate Truck NYC, we're going to học how to do a Salchow right now. So a Salchow is a jump used for figure skating, and it can also be incorporated into a dance moves as well. So you're going to start skating backwards on your left foot, left arm in front, right arm to the side. Your right foot will be slightly behind your left, knees bent. You're going to take a nice sweeping round with your right foot, when it comes up to the front, your knee lifts, and your arms close around. As you do your rotation, you're actually going to jump up, it's a one full rotation, starting backwards, landing backwards, starting on your left foot, landing on your right.
So you start here again, knees bent, nice sweeping motion around, your right knee comes up, right arm turns as you twist, you land with your right foot, left foot forward, and then check your rotation, and then land. So from this side, knees bent, a nice round sweeping up, a nice twist, land on your right foot, left foot kicks forward, check your rotation with a nice pretty landing. Okay? So this is what a Salchow looks like. So when you bring your foot around, you can either use your toe stop to jump up, or just jump from four wheels. So it's much easier to use your toe stop than it is to jump off from your four wheel. Make sure when you rotate, you start by contracting your core, landing on your right foot, left foot forward pointing your toe, arms out, with a nice pretty finish at the end. And that is how you do a Salchow.
