At 55 and 60 I am trying to học to skate pairs. This is our first lesson together with coaches Chris Anders and Melinda Seable. Hank has experience skating pairs. I do not. I also do not fit the model body type for a a pair skater. I currently weight 134 lbs. I need to lose about 10-15 pounds, but more importantly I need to get much stronger in my core and upper body to ever be able to do some of the lifts required. Even for Adult Pairs at the Silver level where overhead lifts are not required or even permitted, there are other lifts which still require a lot of strength on the lady's behalf.... not to mention the gentleman's.
