Paris, FRANCE - 1989 Thế giới Giải trượt băng nghệ thuật, Ice Dancing, Original Set Pattern ("Charleston") - isabelle and Paul Duchesnay of France skated a controversial routine here. They skirted the fine line/gray area by have a feather boa and a straw hat as part of their costumes. Some judges found them to be props as opposed to being part of their costumes and deducted them for that. Some of the judges also gave them a deduction for using vocals in their music, although they did not actually begin skating their dance until after the vocals stopped. They ended up dropping from 3rd to 4th Place going into the Free Dance.
