trượt băng nghệ thuật State Competition 2016 - 3rd Place Preliminary

The Preliminary Ladies division of this year's official State Trượt băng competition was contested by twice as many figure skaters as there have been in this level in previous years. Cinty had beaten all of her States competitors at Trượt băng competitions earlier in the year, but they’ve all been improving so beautifully we certainly can't begrudge a couple scoring higher with such lovely performances on the day. Cinty was pleased to place 3rd, but very disappointed when she realised she won't be wearing her sassy pink and green skating dress any more now that the solo season is over (Prelim level skaters don't progress on to Nationals). PS: Skaters are not divided by age once they get to Preliminary level regardless of how many compete, so Cinty had a big age range of competitors. Personally I disagree that the younger ones like Cinty are at a disadvantage because of their age so I don't support the idea of introducing age groups. The skaters who genuinely have an advantage are the ones who train a zillion more hours per week than the rest - and that's a whole lot more common amongst the younger skaters!! NB: We deliberately damaged the audio of the competition music beyond recognition so that we could share this video with a prolonged fight about copyright.
