Due to his expertise, Robert was asked to work as a full-time coach for Dancing on Ice Series 6. He will also be working with the celebrities on forthcoming series.
Tutorial One
Before you get on the ice please ensure your boots are done up tight, making sure your ankles are well supported. Please ensure your clothing is not restricting your movements and you wear gloves to keep your hands warm.
How to step on the ice
Place your right hand on the barrier and place your left foot sideways on the ice.
Then place your right foot on the ice, adjusting your feet into a V position.
How to stand up on the ice
First roll onto your knees.
Keeping your hands tight within your body, place one leg up.
Keeping your head up, bring both hands onto your knee and push up.
How to walk on Ice
Place your feet into a V position
Put your arms out and bend your knees.
Then take tiny little steps forwards, changing your weight from side to side, walking like a penguin.
How to Stop
As you move forward, move your feet slightly apart.
Bend your knees
Apply pressure towards your big toes, pushing the blades outwards and bringing your toes together and heels out.
And stop.
